Stephen Metcalfe, MP for South Basildon & East Thurrock, attended the MCA Trust’s Family Funday in Orsett at the weekend.
Stephen met with the Chairman of the MCA Trust, Keith Isaacs, on Sunday 16 July to show his support for the local charity’s first-ever Family Funday at Orsett Showground. It aimed to raise awareness for the charity’s work and provide some entertainment to the local community.
The Family Funday included a festival stage, performing bands, live singers, mini golf, fair stalls and an open-air screening of Disney’s Encanto. The Funday was organised in partnership with the events company, All Things Nice, which organised the Ibiza Live Festival the day before.
The MCA Trust is a cancer charity which supports cancer patients under the age of 22 in Essex and East London. It was founded in 2011 and named in memory of Michael Charles Adams MBE who spent much of his life supporting children’s charities.
Stephen Metcalfe said: “What a fantastic event in Orsett at the weekend – the MCA Trust’s Family Funday. There was a massive range of really high-quality entertainment. Well done to the organisers! The MCA Trust is a terrific local charity that supports young patients fighting cancer. I hope to see the Family Funday return next year.”
