Stephen Metcalfe, MP for South Basildon & East Thurrock, recently visited Woodlands School in Basildon to meet the Headteacher, David Wright, and congratulate staff and teachers on their recent “Good” Ofsted report.
Recently, Stephen paid a visit to Woodlands School which has just achieved a “Good” rating following its inspection. Stephen congratulated the staff for the work they are doing to improve the school and ensure that pupils receive the best education and reach their full potential.
Stephen Metcalfe said: “It’s great to see Woodlands continuing to improve under Headteacher David Wright and his hardworking colleagues. I know they care deeply about creating an inquisitive school where pupils ask questions and think outside the box.
It was fantastic to read in the Ofsted report that pupils actively enjoy coming to Woodlands where they learn a broad and well-sequenced curriculum. It’s also great to hear that teachers have a strong focus on personal development and use effective questioning to ensure pupils have a full understanding.
I support Woodlands all the way as they work to unlock opportunities for kids in Basildon. Education is the most powerful tool throughout adult life – it has the power to literally transform your future trajectory. I will always be a big champion of our teachers who are so important to so many children.”
